Work for Oboe Violin Viola and Cello. Parts available: CH56341. This quartet was commissioned by the Institute of Contemporary Arts and written in the autumn of 1967. It is dedicated to Lady Norton and is the second of LennoxBerkeley’s three works written with the oboist the late Janet Craxton in mind the other two being his Sonatina OP 61 and Sinfonia Concertante OP 84. The work begins with a fairly extended introduction leading without a breakinto an Allegro. The whole composition is based on the internal of a third (sometime major sometimes minor) which is heard in the opening phrase of the introduction and again in the main theme of the Allegro though here in atotally different context. The allegro is in more or less traditional sonata form. The middle movement is a kind of Scherzo growing out of a rhythmical figure for the strings and a rapid arpeggio (major and minor chords) forthe oboe. This is a Presto; a more relaxed middle section corresponding to the Trio in a classical work is followed by a much shortened version of the Scherzo. The last movement is brief but very slow all four instrumentstaking up in turn a gently rocking figure that moves to and fro between two notes – always a major or minor third apart. The music becomes more animated but returns to the opening figure and dies away each instrument droppingout one after the other leaving the cello alone in the last bar.

A setting by Kaija Saariaho of texts by Amin Maalouf for solo Soprano with Piano. A joint commission between the Théâtre De Châtelet Paris and the Barbican Centre London the piece was first performed in Paris April 2003. Thetext features four short writings Attente Douleur Parfum De L'Instant and Résonances with a complex Piano part that bubbles with effervescent textures and glissandi.

An opera written in 2006. Kaija Saariaho’s La Passion de Simone was commissioned jointly by the Vienna Festival Los Angeles Philharmonic the Barbican London and Lincoln Center New York. It was first performed on 26th November2006 in Vienna as part of the New Crowned Hope Festival.

James Whitbourn's setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimitis is composed for Tenor Soloist SATB chorus Organ accompaniment and ad.lib Tam Tam percussion. This is part for Tamtam.

Serenatas was commissioned by the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and La Jolla Music Society for SummerFest. It was first performed in Summer 2008 as part of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival given by Real Quiet at theSt. Francis Auditorium Santa Fe New Mexico. The musicians are free to choose the performance order of the five movements.

A solemn prayer setting by Peter Maxwell Davies of a text from Liber Usualis for unaccompanied SSATB chorus. The setting was first performed in May 2005 at the St. Magnus Cathedral Orkney conducted by Neil Price. A Pianoaccompaniment is provided for rehearsal purposes.

This version of Aria for Soprano and Piano is an arrangement of the original version scored for Soprano Flute Cello Celesta and Percussion.

Androcosme is the tenth movement of the wider work Miroir Des Poèmes a work which sets 22 poems by the French poet and philosopher Jean Biès. This piece is arranged for unaccompanied double SATBChoir and lasts around 3 minutes. Miroir Des Poèmes was commissioned by the Vancouver Chamber Choir to mark their 40th anniversary in 2011 with major funding coming from the Arts Partners inCreative Development. The lyrics of Androcosme include a refrain which depicts the progression of man's life through various emotions comparing them to the natural world in a beautifully poetic metaphor. Tavener himself describes this piece as part of the central section which is 'the metaphysical and mystical centre of the piece'. Please note the words are in French but an Englishtranslation is provided.

The set of parts for the updated version of Miranda's Lament . Composed in 1997 and revised in 2000 the piece is part of 'The Tempest Songbook' and was dedicated as a birthday present for Paavo Heininen. The score forthis edition is available with catalogue number CH69938-01. The score and parts for Saariaho's original 1997 edition are also available using catalogue numbers CH61440 and CH61440-01 respectively.

First performance on 20th November 2007 at St George’s Hall Liverpool by Nicholas Cox (Clarinet) and the Chilingirian Quartet as part of the Rodewald Concert Series.

An arrangement of one of the songs from The Little Prince a fabulous moving and melodic opera by Rachel Portman with luxurious counter melodies and placid harmonies. This opera is based on French philosopher andaviator Antoine de Saint-Exupery's novella Le Petit Prince an international classic penned in 1943. It was composed by Rachel Portman the first woman to win an Oscar for a film score (Emma-1996) with text by NicholasWright. While Saint-Exupery's moving parable of self-discovery is the foundation of the opera's appeal it is Portman's music that gives the work its dramatic impact.
