This arrangement of Handels beautiful melody was created as an educational tool for teaching students both the legato (sustained) style and the expressive quality of playing. Though these qualities of performance are not generally considered fun by younger students compared to playing fast exciting music with more technical demands it actually requires a great deal more musical maturity and ability.

Dedicated to the men and women who gave their lives in Vietnam and whose names are forever engraved on the solemn BLACK GRANITE stone wall at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. This heroic march celebrates the valor courage and honor of those who served. A driving and energetic horn line is followed by a lyrical and inspiring woodwind chorale. This concert work is based on melodies from Kenya which originate in two children's counting games. Using Wakarathe from the Kikuyu tribe and Tangewou from the Kipsigis tribe this work is an excellent adventure into multi-cultural programming.
