Bundeshymne-The melody of Bundeslied originates from Mozart’s' Frimaurerkantate (KV62) from 1791. However research has shown evidence that it was probably composed by Johann Holzer a freemason brother of his but there is no definite evidence for this. Following the Second World War this melody was used as the basis for the new Austrian national anthem. Micheal Bilkes has adapted this beautiful stately hymn for concert band. The result is a captivating work for both performers and audience.

A four-part choir part in English has been added which can be used ad lib. or you can also opt for singing the melody line only for example with a soloist and/or the congregation. The arrangementis not too high pitched so that the work can also be used in combination with a children's or High School choir.

The song Bist du bei mir geh' ich mit Freuden zum Sterben und zu meiner Ruh' (BWV 508) was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach for his second wife Anna Magdalena (1701-1760) who he married in 1721. The unparalleled popularity of this song is probably due to the magnificent sensitive melody that wonderfully fits the anonymous text in which a loved one is told that even death is beautiful as long as you are there with me. Jacob de Haan has produced this beautiful arrangement for brass band which is suitable for many occasions.

Studio-Pop consists of five movements. The first movement entitled Marching on a String is an energetic rock march in a modern rhythm. Next the charming Dreaming of Summer has been composed in three-four time - which is quite unusual in modern pop music. The inspiration for the third movement Chicken-Charley was a youngman selling chicken legs from a stall. His supple dancing movements can be recognised in the music. The fourth movement Candlelight is a modern attractive ballad. Finally Discoteca takes us along on a night visit to a Spanish discotheque. The typically Spanish chords and the stirring high-spirited rhythm provide an exuberant closing to Studio-Pop.

Kaseko is an original style of music from Surinam. An unnamed Kaseko melody from the collection of Ronald Snijders is the starting point for Kaseko Fever. In his collection the piece was given the number A50 which nitially was also the title. The swinging melody was the arranger’s inspiration to produce this fantasy; the imaginative part of the conga drum is the driving force.

This work in two movements was written for the 50th anniversary of “Harmonie St. Cecilia” in Oudenburg Belgium and is dedicated to its conductor Arne Wyntin.The first part is rather quiet and pastoral in character and is written in a gently rocking 12/8 time. The tranquility of the area around the medieval town of Oudenburg a rustic region not far from the North Sea is expressed in a striking fashion. After a beautiful orchestral climax the second part begins which is inspired by the Roman past of Oudenburg. A somewhat oppressive and impending introduction leads to the musical reflection of an army parade: Oudenburg was a so-called “castellum ” and the remains ofthe fortress are still visible in the current town plan. A more dynamic passage follows featuring the low brass. After that the solemn rhythm of the parade is recaptured culminating in a triumphant ending.

Klezmer was originally the name given to the music of the Yiddish speaking Jews in Eastern Europe. The klezmer musicians played dance music mainly at weddings. Historically string instruments such as the violin were predominantly used but later (after ca. 1900) other instruments and in particular the clarinet were added as melodic instruments. In klezmer music in addition to Balkan influences oriental and gipsy influences can also be found. Jacob de Haan composed Klezmania in this style based on the well-known Hebrew song Hava Nagila.

This volume of easy duets offer a vast array of practice andperformance material. The duets have been carefully composed andarranged to tie in with the Look Listen and Learn method books although they can equally well be used separately. from the Clarinet Concerto in Eb Major Op. 36-Le compositeur et violoniste tchèque Frantisek Vincenc Kramar dont le nom fut germanisé en Franz Vinzenz Krommer est né le 27 novembre 1759 à Kamenice en Moravie occidentale et mort le 8 janvier 1831 à Vienne en Autriche. À l’adolescence il est initié à l’art du violon et à l’orgue par son oncle Anton Matthias Krommer lui-même organiste et chef de chœur. En 1785 il fait un premier séjour à Vienne avant de rejoindre l’orchestre du Comte de Limburg-Stirum dont la résidence se trouve à Simontornya en Hongrie. Il est engagé d’abord en tant que violon solo de l’orchestre puis plus tard en tant que maître de chapelle. Vers 1790 il obtient le poste de chef de chœurà la cathédrale de Pécs. Il quitte cette fonction en 1793 pour entrer au service du Comte Károlyi puis du Prince Antal Grassalkovich. En 1795 suite au décès du prince hongrois Franz Krommer revient à Vienne. Après une longue période d’infortune il entre comme Maître de Chapelle au service du Duc Ignaz Fuchs en 1806. Quatre ans plus tard il est nommé au poste de directeur musical du Théâtre Royal et Impérial de Vienne (Wiener Hoftheater). En 1818 succédant à Leopold (Johann Anton) Kozeluch il devient le dernier Maître de musique de chambre et compositeur de la cour des Habsbourg. Il gardera ses fonctions jusqu’à sa mort en 1831.Franz Krommer était l’un des plus illustres compositeurs tchèques de la Vienne impériale vers la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Sa musique était très appréciée de son vivant et certains le considéraient comme le digne héritier de Joseph Haydn. Son style est indéniablement apparenté à ce dernier mais aussi à celui de Mozart. Franz Krommer a composé de nombreuses symphonies des concertos (essentiellement pour instruments à vent solistes) des duos pour violons des quatuors à cordes de la musique de chambre et des œuvres sacrées.
