The text by Mark Twain from a poem by Robrt Richardson and although titled Dedication it is more of a blessing. A beautiful concert closer for advanced high school or college voices Richard Burchard's music is rich and warm. The notes aren't all that difficult but singing all the gentle dissonances in tune will be the challenge.

This ancient Greek prayer asking for God's mercy has been selected for the Bruce Rogers Choral Series. The music is written largely in a homophonic style with shifts in harmony functioning like building blocks of sound. A greatfestival piece it will be popular with high school and college choirs.

Venislovas is a Lithuanian composer whose piece has been selected for the Bruce Rogers series. A folk-song like piece the text is about an encounter between a maiden and a soldier in the woods. It is not a love song it is more about the distance between the two. The music is mysterious and wonderfully original it absolutely draws you into the story and leaves you wanting more.

Stacey Gibbs knows how to arrange a spiritual to yield the maximum audience response. Selected for the Paul Smith Series the harmonies and rhythmic tosses in this setting are brilliant. The ending builds to a thrilling finish.Great for college concert and some outstanding church choirs.

Almost too clever for words Larry Shackley decided it was time to make fun of all those who use Bach's classics as a foundation for a new song. So he did it too but in the most honoring and humorous way. Larry is anestablished composer and arranger and his craftsmanship comes through with this amusing piece.
