But almost as fun is how Robert Clatterbuck has developed an antecedent phrase that works likeseparate solo lines for each voice part then all sing the consequent phrase in harmony. SATB-Commissioned for the 50th anniversary of the Los Cancioneros Chorale in Los Angeles this 8-minute work combines classical themes with a syncopated rhythm. The opening and closing sections are fast and driving while the middlesections are more serene. Based on Psalm 100 (Make a Joyful Noise) the work is fitting for concert or church use. Although performable with organ and piano the original orchestration includes strings harp and percussion.
