Lying on high calcareous sandstone rocks are the monumental monasteries of Meteora a region in northcentral Greece which look down over the valley of the Pinios River. This region inspired Kevin Houben to compose Valley of the Pinios . You can almost hear the wind swirl around the chalk rocks. The sacred atmosphere of the monasteries the prayers the solitude the grandness of the valley and the splendour of nature are all reflected in this inspirational composition.

Following an inspirational trip to the Italian province of Como André Waignein composed A Triple Suite to capture the true beauty of this region. Waignein used three musical settings to depict Como. The first portrays the discovery of the lake and the picturesque villages around it. The second is a dreamy observation of the boats moving peacefully across the lake and the third depicts the energy of the town as locals and tourists mingle soaking up the friendly Italian atmosphere. The Belgian composer used all the typical characteristics of the instrument such as its powerful tone suppleness virtuosity and warm sound. Tom de Haeshas created a reconstruction based on the partly missing original version for concert band the piano score and the version for symphony orchestra.
