Suite in memory J. S. Bach-As times go bye... is a title with several possible meanings. In one sense it is a nostalgic reference to the long period of time that has elapsed since the days of J. S. Bach. In another sense though it refers to the musical concept of time which is a principal element of this composition: As time goes by and Playing with time are taken as themes with each movement dealing with a particular aspect of time in conjunction with musical motifs from Bach's Well-tempered Clavichord. A rewarding piece for the saxophone ensemble repertoire - suitable for competitions concert performance and teaching purposes.

Concert Piece after Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov- The popular Flight of the Bumblebee by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov is a welcome opportunity for every musician to demonstrate his or her technical skills. The Russian composer-pianist Alexander Rosenblatt composed a virtuoso Piano arrangement of the famous theme which moves masterfully back and forth between jazz and classical music thus being a 'cross-over' work: bebop (a jazz style from the 1940s and 1950s) is added to 'Bumblebee' which makes this work not only an amusing play on words ('Bumble-Bee-Bop') but also a virtuoso concert piece which ought to be enjoyable for both performers and listeners alike.

How to shape a melodic line-Musical interpretation is first and foremost a question of shaping a melody or the melodic line of a setting. Music like any language follows its own set of rules and a sufficient knowledge and familiarity with musical grammar' is therefore an essential prerequisite of any convincing interpretation.The internationally renowned performer and teacher Peter-Lukas Graf explains in great detail the parameters that have to be taken into account for a successful interpretation: rhythm metre agogics articulation phrasing ornamentation and implied polyphony etc. Numerous examples from the flute repertoire of the 17th-20th century serve as models fromwhich he derives the rules' appropriate for an interpretation in keeping with each period. - These rules are not intended to be dogmatic but instead should stimulate the players to form their own opinion.

26 pieces in all major and minor keys (pentatonic melody)-The popularity of Cornelius Gurlitt's (1820-1901) varied and abundant piano œuvre certainly inspired by his work as a music teacher is undiminished until today and still of great educational significance in music lessons. The musical language of his four-handed piano miniatures is very similar to that of the compositions by Carl Reinecke and Theodor Kirchner. 'Hours of rest' was published for the first time by Schott in 1880 and shall now be made accessible again for music lessons with this new edition. The miniatures have a simple yet effective structure are arranged in an educationally sensible way and have an expressive tonal language containing cantabile folk-song-like dance-like expressive and chorale-like elements. Everything that makes beginner's lessons sensible and systematic is dealt with in these 26 varied miniatures; in particular the pupils are made familiar with all major and minor modes.
