Franz Liszt composed his lyrical-meditative organ fantasia on the Ave Maria von Arcadelt in Rome in 1863. In contrast to his major virtuoso works this charming genre piece can even be easily played on smaller (double-manual) instruments even without swell-organ and reeds. The 'Liszt organ' at the village church of Denstedt near Weimar which was built by the Peternell brothers in 1859/60 and has survived in its original state may be used as an example. It did not become known until in 1927 that the Ave Maria attributed to Jakob Arcadelt (around 1505-1568) was a revised version by the composer Pierre-Louis-Philippe Dietsch (1808–1865) who used the melody of Arcadelt'schanson Nous voyons que les hommes which he then harmonized into his own Romantic four-part choral setting and to which he added the sacred text as a contrafactum. Our separate edition wants to make this rather 'poetic' yet quite easy-to-play organ work without any major technical difficulties accessible to a large circle of interested people. Despite the rich and lively repertoire there are only few compositions for flute and piano which can truly be called 'jazz-inspired'. This gap is now closed by Jeremy Norris with his 'Jazz Suite'. Its musical language is characterized by syncopated and swing rhythms as well as by blues-inspired harmonies and melodies. The instrumental setting is vaguely reminiscent of the music by Earl Hines Benny Goodman or Dave Brubeck. Immerse yourself into Fantasy' 'Piano bar blues' 'La parisienne' 'Déjà vue' and 'Time out'.

Andrej Makor currently a master student of composition at the Conservatorio Cesare Pollini in Padua has already won numerous international composition prizes. The highly respected works by the artist born in Slovenia in 1987 are performed by renowned choirs ensembles and soloists at prestigious competitions and festivals among others. His composition O Emmanuel for which he was awarded the 2nd prize of the International Composition Competition 'Musica Sacra Nova' 2016 is based on the original Gregorian chant of the last of a total of seven so-called O antiphons which are sung at the seven Advent days with the Magnificat at Vespers in anticipation of Christmas Eve.Makor's score which follows the traditional motet form but is structured in a more modern form begins with the original Gregorian chorale. Its melody runs through various voice groupings in the course of the piece. In the concluding 'Domine Deus noster' whose pressing character becomes obvious in the constantly recurring triplet figurations of the middle parts the work imbued with the idea of eternity reaches its extremely impressive climax.

from the Opera 'Tannhauser'-During his time in Weimar (1848–1861) Liszt developed a then entirely new organ style which stands out for both orchestral and pianistic elements. Together with the choirmaster Alexander Wilhelm Gottschalg (1827–1908) from Tiefurt he regularly initiated so-called 'organ conferences'. And it was at the suggestion of Gottschalg that the present arrangement of the Pilgrim's Choir from the opera 'Tannhäuser' was written. With his version for organ Liszt by means of this example laid the foundations for the (not always undisputed) tradition extending to the present day of organ transcriptions from the operas of Wagner. 'Organistic' elements in the Pilgrims' Choir are theclassical chorale theme the solemn 'sacred' atmosphere of the solemn tempo as well as the expressive cantability. The linear intensification from the antiphonal-organ-like piano dolce of the beginning to the 'full organ' can be realized in a convincing manner with an orchestrally conceived three-manual organ with the sensitive use of the swell box and the successive seamless build-up of the crescendo pedal being of particular significance. Important repertoire piece marking the 200th birthday of Richard Wagner in 2013.

Buxtehude's organ music already fascinated J. S. Bach – and generations of organists ever since. Schott's urtext edition of his complete organ oeuvre in the renowned series 'Masters of the North German Organ School' is based on the sources taking the latest findings of the Buxtehude research into account. Unlike all previous Buxtehude editions this new edition by Claudia Schumacher follows the rhythm notation of the original i.e. the tablature thus providing for the first time the authentic version which enables the player to interpret the works in a differentiated manner. Volumes 3 and 4 contain a total of 48 chorale arrangements in alphabeticalorder of the initials of the chorales: Vol. 3 contains 26 pieces (A-L) Vol. 4 22 arrangements (M-W).
