10 Orgelwerke Aus 4 Jahrhunderten- New Music on old instruments and new organ literature in dialogue with historical Iberian works. The present edition contains a collection of works composed for an authentically rebuilt historical Spanish organ and covering a wide range of styles which adds new sounds to the purely Baroque repertoire. With works by José Blasco de Nebra Francisco Correa de Arauxo Antonio de Cabezon Pedro de Araujo and new compositions by Guy Bovet Michael Kapsner Pavel Klimashevsky Zsigmond Szathmary and Alfred Muller-Kranich. The new Spanish organ of the Hochschule fur Musik Mainz as an authentically rebuilt historical instrumentfrom the workshop of the organ builder Joaquín Lois from Tordesillas in Castile shall both adequately reproduce early music and be a source of inspiration for contemporary music. For this reason the Hochschule fur Musik Mainz commissioned five composers to write modern compositions according to the motto 'Early music in dialogue with New Music' which are a valuable addition to the repertoire of historical instruments of the 'Siglo de Oro'. Certain specifications had to be taken into account: e. g. a limited pitch range half stops for treble and bass registers the short octave as well as a mean-tone temperament. In addition each composition is based on a work of the Iberian organ literature; sometimes the work found its way into the new composition sometimes it only served as an inspiration. The pieces can also be played on a modern organ although there is a special charm in playing and hearing them played on an appropriate historical instrument. Encompassing a broad range of styles the resulting collection adds new sounds to the purely Baroque repertoire.

“In this work I gave everything I had to give. […] What I did here I will never do again”. Camille Saint-Saëns was justifiably proud of his Symphony No.3 in C minor Op.78 dedicated to the memory of Franz Liszt. Like Beethoven’s Ninth this so-called “Organ Symphony” was commissioned by the Philharmonic Society in London where it received its premiere on 19 May 1886. In this first scholarly-critical edition of the symphony a great many inconsistencies and mistakes inherent in the previously used edition have been unveiled and corrected. The edition of Symphony No.3 marks the launch of a large-scale project: thepublication of Camille Saint-Saëns - Complete Edition of the Instrumental Works. This performing Urtext edition is based on volume BA 10303 from that series. First scholarly-critical edition of this famous symphony based on Camille Saint-Saëns – Complete Edition of the Instrumental Works Now with separate parts for all winds Orchestral parts in a large format (25.5 cm x 32.5 cm)

He has produced a whole series published by De Haske that is constantly being expanded. Proust wrote Titania for more advanced flute students witharound 4–5 years’ progress. Proust’s style is easily accessible to the student and at the same time appeals to the audience so this piece is especially suitable as a recital or competition piece.

While teaching in India composer Lindsay Boyd became acquainted with the fundamentals of Northern Hindustani music. The result is this intriguingly unique work for wind band that incorporates distinctive sounds of India. The drone sound of the tambura is available as a free download online or may be substituted with a marimba. The vocal chanting in the piece is a representation of the syllables used by a tabla player when learning to play this exotic drum. This is a wonderful piece for expanding the musical horizons of your players and audience.

A Suite in three Movements-Each movement of this composition instrumentally reflects several of the different manners in which the human voice produces sound and becomes a vehicle of communication. The first movement portrays a dialogue between several groups represented by different sections of the band. The second movement begins quietly swells to a climactic level then concludes with the peacefulness of the beginning. The final movement is a joyous celebration of the human voice's ability to sing. Very pleasing to play and equally interesting to listen to - an uplifting selection for any concert program.Symphonic Band (full score). Kirby R
