BWV 10- Now My Soul Exalts The Lord BWV 10: Cantata for the Feast of Visitation B. V. M. With his cantata Meine Seel Erhebt Den Herren which Bach composed for the Visitation of Mary (2 July) he created a Magnificat setting of a different kind: The German text source is a combination of biblical text and a free interpretation the basis being the Marian hymn of praise from the Gospel according to Luke. The 9th psalm tone acts as the chorale melody and becomes a recurring musical theme. With a small scoring of one trumpet (which if need be can be omitted) two oboes strings and basso continuo along with four soloists and choir Bach succeeds in writing a festive music of 20-25 minutes. This performing edition is based on the Urtext of the New Bach Edition.

The fruit of Siegfried Petrenzs labor is an inspired transparent 'Clavier' reduction (EB 8662) that is amazingly faithful to Baroque practice. Pièce Concertante Op.27 for Trombone and Piano is a piece by Carlos Salzédo written for the Paris Conservatoire contest. Great to demonstrate all the skills acquired by the player this piece is difficult (7°) and requires an advanced level to be played perfectly. Quite slow during the first section the second part of the piece features some faster sections that are more syncopated. It requires a good mastering of breathing due to long phrases and liaisons Carlos Salzédo (1885-1961) was one of the greatest French harpists and a pianists composers and conductors. He wrote numerous pieces forHarp some theory books and methods and some pieces for other instruments such as Piano Cello Trombone Flute or Voice.

The Czech composer Emil Hradecký (born 1953) is the author of a whole number of instructive pieces for children often inspired with dance music and jazz. Cantata for Easter Tuesday- Ein Herz dass seinen Jesum lebend weiss BWV 134 Cantata for Easter Tuesday (third version). Cantata BWV 134 belongs to those works in which we can follow particularly clearly Bach's custom of continually altering and improving his works from performance to performance. Although this cantata in the course of its history became a valuable even a particularly festal church cantata it does not disown its secular origin. Concert March-I composed Axis as a dedication to my friend Shinya Nakamitsu. He is a wonderful graphic designer who loves wind band music. Some years ago I made a demo CD to hand out to a number of people. He oversaw the jacket design for that project and I composed this traditional march to thank him. Shinya Nakamitsu runs a design company called AXIS: hence the name of the composition.
