From Christmas In A Box: This collection is composed of three musical duos which belong together per region or style. You can order these separately per duo or as an entire collection.

for 2 Flutes and Concert Band-Composer flutist and conductor Franz Albert Doppler (1821-1883) descends from a musical Austrian-Hungarian family. Together with his brother Karl who was a flute virtuoso he travelled extensively around Europe. Arranger Gottfried Veit has arranged this appealing duet for concert band with two flutes as soloists. It is a fine addition to the repertoire and an ideal work to spotlight you flautists.

This refreshing lively composition by the Japanese composer Naoya Wada is an ideal opening work but it can equally provide a boost of energy later in your concert programme. Brilliant themes supported by virtuoso runs and energetic counter melodies ensure that each section including percussion is given a chance to shine.

A solemn majestic opening fanfare is followed by a cantabile theme that emerges in different instrument groups one after another. The opening fanfare then also undergoes a number of instrumental transformations. This powerful opening work will give your concert a festive touch but is also makes a great warm-up item at the start of a rehearsal or before a competition performance.

This marvellous work by the Singaporean composer Benjamin Yeo outlines a number of beautiful impressions of the magnificent fauna and flora of Gondwana (or Gondwanaland). Some unusual sounds of nature announce a dazzling allegro with lots ofpercussion and swift time changes. A lovely romantic melody reflects the silence of nature. At the end of the work the initial theme reappears this time in a grand monumental instrumentation.

This work consists of three movements that flow over into each other. A short melodious introduction is followed by a rhythmic passage whereby the theme is played in canon. In the melancholic and moving middle part various instruments are given the opportunity to present themselves. Subsequently a reprise of the first part with slight variations is played. This work is suitable for all orchestras even if you do not have all the instruments available. Cues have been provided everywhere and the instrumentation is broad.

The originally Russian word ‘Maslenitsa’ carries different meanings depending on the religious background and context. But it always refers to a celebration! One plausible interpretation is the winter solstice a feast that’s celebrated deep into the night. Here a doll that symbolises the winter is burned. Sven Van Calster’s Maslenitsa will fan the flames at your concert!

One of the biggest hits of WetWetWet has been arranged in an excellent way by George Moreau. ‘Love is all around’ will certainly please the young audience.

Concert March- Playday! is a concert march for wind band that displays the composer’s sheer joy at writing music. He was in fact writing another piece of serious music when a sudden burst of inspiration came to him - he knew he had to put the other piece aside to start work on this special march immediately. Excited to get his music into writing and share it with the world the march was completed in just three short days. Full of fun and playful sounds Playday! opens up many imaginative possibilities within the familiar concert march form.

In addition to 4 piano concertos Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943) also wrote some symphonies. The clarinet solo from the adagio in his second symphony opus 27 is probably one of the most beautiful melodies from this period.

The Turtle Dove is without a doubt one of the most well-known British folk songs right up there with the likes of Greensleeves or Drink to Me Only. The Turtle Dove has been skillfully arranged for concert band by Swiss composer and arranger Etienne Crausaz carefully keeping the mood and intimacy of the original melody.

Let’s Celebrate was composed for the youth band SJOW in Hoboken Belgium to commemorate their 10th anniversary and now bands around the world can use it to celebrate their own special occasions. This dynamic work gives every section a chance to shine. Lyrical melodies are heard in the woodwinds hip beats are laid down by the drum set and the brass plays with bravura. Perfect as an opener encore or simply to wake up the audience!

Rhapsodia is a composition full of contrasts where listener and performer are pulled along together in a musical and emotional adventure. Many human feelings are expressed in the characteristic cinematic style of Robert Finn making this work an absolute must for every band.

Olhos Verdes means nothing other than green eyes. A nice and light interim piece for all concerts. The infectious rhythm and the stirring melodies guarantee a good mood.

Bert Appermont composed Song for Sakiko during a stay in the cosmopolitan metropolis of Tokyo. Sakiko roughly translated means flower child and is associated with a dreamy poetic atmosphere. Appermont used theseassociations as a starting point while composing. Song for Sakiko starts with a very lyrical theme based on a minor third that forms the basis for the entire work. A second theme builds up to the grand finale which repeats the theme but in amajor key and the music slowly fades away like ripples on a pond as both themes can be heard dissipating into nothingness.

This composition paints a picture of belligerent and brave Vikings. After a short introduction the lofty main theme is heard accompanied by sombre drum sounds. A brief idyllic passage follows that evokes a beautiful landscape. Gradually a heroicmelody is revealed leading to a great tutti in which the rousing main theme is heard once more. Return of the Vikings closes with the sound of heroic brass and festive chords.
