The popular Swedish children's series Pippi Långstrump (Pippi Longstocking) is about an exceedingly strong and strong-willed little girl with red braids - who is the brainchild of Astrid Lindgren. This series has been broadcasted in many countries. I arranged its cheerful theme tune in samba style. Even with the new rhythm the original song is still very recognizable. In the exuberant samba style the percussion plays an important role. Within the Långstrump Samba this is especially clear in the ad libitum percussion solo halfway through the arrangement. The solo can go on as long as desired and offers plenty of freedom because of the free choice of the instruments used.

Indian Sketches-The Dakota (or Sioux) Indians from the American states of North and South Dakota form the central figures in this composition. The work consists of five movements in which the culture and history of these Indians have been portrayed through musical paintings by making use of an old South Dakota Indian melody.

Pride of the Forest reflects the pride that is associated with the character of the people who live in the Fryske Wâlden (‘The Frisian Woods’) a region in the northeast of the Dutch province of Friesland. Generally speaking the inhabitants are tough stalwart straightforward tenacious honest and most of all proud. During the piece the typical landscape as well as all characteristics of the Frisian people are described in a fantastic and colourful way. A lovely piece for your contest or concert!

Sahara takes you on a journey to the largest desert in the world. Located in the north of the African continent it covers eight million square kilometres and spreads across ten nations. The work describes the various landscapes that the Sahara has to offer using different instrumental groups to underline different characteristics. Both an intense rhythmic passage with lots of percussion as well as a chorale part with beautiful brass segments make this a wonderful yet challenging piece. It also allows you to work on different technical aspects with your band and is suitable for a concert or a contest.

Around the Globe is an easy suite for youth band or ensemble. The work which was written for flexible instrumentation increases in difficulty. On this journey we travel through the United States Germany the Czech Republic and end in England with Rule Britannia ’ of course!

Pascal Proust has many years of experience as a musician and music teacher. His works include several hundred compositions for the most diverse range of instrumentations. He wrote 14 Easy Trombone Quartets for trombone players who have around3 years of experience and paid special attention to an easy-to-follow and attractive musical style. These quartets are ideal performance and competition works for young trombone ensembles.

This three-movement symphony musically depicts the history of Hungary. Key historical figures wars and other important events from this country inspired all three movements. The first movement depicts Atilla the King of the Huns and is characterised by fear threat and aggression. The second movement focuses on Árpád the founder of the Hungarian State and the final movement is named after István the King who introduced Christianity into Hungary. The beautiful theme of the national hymn appears throughout the symphony however it is often partially hidden. It is used as a “thread ” hardly recognizable at the beginning becoming more and more obvious near the end and itconcludes the symphony as the “final apotheosis ” making the band sound like a majestic living organ.

(Extended Edition)- Frontier Vision is a concert or contest piece based on three elements: the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of Reformation Day the Martin Luther melody A Mighty Fortress Is Our God ( Ein Feste Burg ist unser Gott ) on whichthis composition is based and thirdly the spreading of the evangelical movement in the late 19th century of which the analogous storyline forms the structural basis of this work. Multi-cultural ethnic influences along with the driving rhythms thatreflect the perseverance and hard work of those mission-minded pioneers are both important components that make Frontier Vision an outstanding choice for your concert or contest. Frontier Vision was the test piece for the seconddivision in the Dutch National Brass Band Championships 2017.

Op. 114-KUROSHIO´S MESSENGER was written for Yukihiro Ikeda the tuba player with the NHK symphony orchestra of Tokyo Japan. The première was given on 21 March 2010 at the Yamaha Hall in Tokyo. Kuroshio is the Japanese name for a warm current in thePacific Ocean. In this free-form composition various sea creatures such as whales and tuna are depicted. This demanding solo piece is characterised by frequent changes in tempo and mood.

from Breakfast at Tiffany's- Moon River Cha Cha was arranged to be part of Cory Band's winning set from Brass in Concert 2016 which was entitled; 'The Remarkable Life of Roald Dahl'. The centenary of Dahl's birth in Wales was celebrated in 2016 and this piece comes from the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's which starred Dahl's first wife Patricia Neal. The easy-listening style of the music portrays the glamour and glitz of Roald Dahl's immediate post-war life in the USA.

Paso Bella is full of the typical fiery and melodic characteristics of the paso doble. The hot Spanish temperament can be heard from the opening themes in the minor key as is usual in a paso doble to the last bars of the trio. The trio is followed by an exuberant closing which will reverberate in the ears of both musicians and audience for a long time.
