3 Recital Pieces-Safari is a fascinating three-movement suite for clarinet and piano or clarinet and piano composed by Allen Vizzutti. The movements of this musical Safari have the descriptive titles: The Sea A Clarinettist's Dream and Have a good trip!

For Brass Quintet-The controversial German composer conductor and music theorist Richard Wagner (1813-1883) is mainly known for his dramatic operas. The wedding march issued in this edition is from the opera Lohengrin which Wagner composed in 1848.Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) was a versatile German composer of the early Romantic period. He was considered the child prodigy after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The wedding march issued here is from Ein Sommernachtstraum (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) the overture to which he had already written by the time he was seventeen but which was only completed in 1842.

His passion for the theatre leads to the customary love vicissitudes and comical intricacies - and a new successful show.I Got Rhythm now a jazz standard has been performed over the years by numerous famous and not-so-famous artists. The chord scheme has become so well-known that it has been named rhythm changes and is oftenused by jazz musicians.

Poema Sinfonico per Orchestra-Ottorino Respighi was one of the most well known Italian composersfrom the beginning of the twentieth century. His style is influencedby the French impressionists Rimsky-Korsakov and Richard Strauss but with his very own touch. Respighi’s fame is mostly based on hisinstrumental works especially the orchestral triptych of symphonicpoems which included Feste Romane. This skilful adaptation forconcert band retains all the excitement of the original.

Swing it William!-This lively work includes a ‘jazzed-up’ version of the Dutch national anthem! Many jazz elements help this arrangement fly by like a whirlwind. Let your band simply swing with this fun piece.

Mercury is a concert march composed in a typically British idiom. In 1990 Jan Van der Roost wrote this piece on the occasion of the 15-year anniversary of his own band: Brass Band Midden Brabant. Like many British marches the main theme is written in a minor key. Powerful and virtuoso themes characterize the first part of this march while the trio melody is much more melodical offering the tenor register to display its lyrical skills. Follows a dynamic passage for trombones and trumpets/cornets leading to a grandioso version of the main trio melody and thus concluding this march in a magnificent way.

Composer Jacob de Haan has based The Heart of Lithuania on five folk melodies from Lithuania a country that despite its small size has a rich cultural heritage. The choice and diversity of emotions largely determined by the characteristic melodies take the listener straight to the heart of the Lithuanian people.

Le fantastique et le merveilleux y jouent un rôle primordial mais l'humour et la portée philosophique qui s'en dégage les font parfois ressembler à des satires plus qu'à des contes pour enfants. Traduits en plus de quatre-vingts langues ses contes n’ont pas de temporalité et continuent d’inspirer les écrivains réalisateurs chorégraphes sculpteurs peintres et compositeurs. La musique descriptive nous raconte l’histoire d’un chêne antique et séculaire. « Il avait justement atteint trois cent soixante-cinq ans (…). Souvent par les beaux jours d'été il discutait avec les éphémères qui venaient s'ébattre et tourbillonner gaiement autour de sa couronne. (…) Le temps approchait où il allait se reposer (…). Le chêne (…) s'endormit pour tout le long hiver ; et il eut bien des rêves où sa vie passée lui revint en souvenir. (…) Et tout à coup le chêne éprouva comme si un nouveau et puissant courant de vie partant des extrémités de ses racines le traversait de part en part montant jusqu'à sa cime jusqu'au bout de ses plus hautes feuilles. (…) Soudainement ses racines se détachèrent de terre. (…) Ce fut la fin du rêve du vieux chêne. Une tempête terrible soufflait sur mer et sur terre. (…) Il tomba au moment où il rêvait qu'il s'élançait vers l'immensité des cieux. (…) »Les couleurs et les atmosphères créées par Maxime Aulio laissent à l'imagination toute la liberté de ses rêveries. On average about eight thousand (mostly light) earthquakes occur worldwide each day. Composer Jan de Haan has always been fascinated by this natural phenomenon. Earthquake portrays the beautiful South-American peninsula Isla Iberi which lies directly on a major fault line. The peace and tranquility is shattered by a major tremor and the terrified people flee in fear. In addition to showing the earthquakes destructive power Earthquake also conveys the courage and faith of the industrious people of Isla Iberia as they energetically start the reconstruction of their beloved residential area. Earthquake is dedicated to the memory of all victims of the devastating Asiantsunami which occurred on 26 December 2004.
