By that time he was already an established organist court and chamber musician and Kapellmeister at the Cothen court. After their marriage the couple started right away on a Keyboard Notebook ( Clavier-Buchlein ) for Anna Magdalena's practice. Eventually they collected two separate books (begun in 1722 and 1725) which are known today as the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach. Editor & recordingartist: Christos Tsitsaros A selection of 12 pieces from the most famous Keyboard notebook in the history of music presented here as part of the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library . The Anna Magdalena Notebook is a particularly intimate and unusual set of didactic pieces composed by J.S. Bach as practice material for his second wife. Such a notebook would have been commonplace in any musical household containing a large variety of music often transcribed by the students themselves and from which an initial repertoire would develop. By its very nature this set of pieces has become a vital source of information regarding Keyboard teaching in the Baroque era andespecially regarding the methods and thinking behind one of the world's greatest composers. This special selection suitable for any early intermediate Piano student has been edited by Christos Tsitsaros who performs all 12 pieces on the included online audio.

Low Voice in E-flat minor and Piano-Sheet Music John Jacob Niles (1892-1980) was an American singer composer and collector of folk songs. In Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair he takes a traditional Appalachian folk song probably of Scottish origin and sets it to an original melody because his father thought the traditional tune was “downright terrible”. Although it was written in c1920 it wasn’t recorded until 1941 but since then it has become a standard piece in the repertoire of many folk musicians from both sides of the Atlantic. Here it has been arranged for a Low Voice (Alto or Bass) and Piano.
