Nostradamus is probably the best-known prophet of the last 1000 years. He lived at the time of the Inquisition and his predictions and medical therapies as a physician caused him to face the wrath of the church forcing him to flee many times. Following the loss of his family to the plague he devoted himself to clairvoyancy. He predicted many events in history in coded form and although there are many ways to interpret these many are believed to be accurate and Nostradamus is still considered to be a unique personality. Whether he is denounced as a charlatan or promoted as a myth he has surely moved humankind with his prophecies.Otto M. Schwarz soundtrack composer since2001 wrote a cinematographic work about this man who is probably the best-known prohet of the last 1000 years.

The expression “groove” is often used as a term for the various rhythmic styles characteristic of Afro-American music. In fact pretty much any danceable rhythm is called a groove. This even extends to jazz a musical genre that originated in African American communities. African Groove will get the audience into the groove snapping their fingers and even up on their feet.

The Austrian composer Thomas Murauer unfolds his versatile style of composing and lets you enter a world of fantasy and colours.

Patron of lovers and bridesmaids-This piece came about as a Christmas gift for Valentin the composers’ youngest son. Valentin—more commonly Valentine in English—is also the patron saint of lovers. He is said to have been a poor priest who healed a blind girl and gave flowers from his garden to those who sought help and comfort. Saint Valentine’s day has been celebrated in February each year since the 14th century as a day devoted to love. This work is written in the style of a chorale and has a light touch of romance!

The Mystery of Light is the first of a series of pieces with the same theme. ‘NIGHTLIGHTS’ deals with lights of the night: created partly by nature and partly by man himself and consists ofthree movements: Opener and Star Shower Lunar Eclipse and Aurora and Fireworks .

(2nd Symphonette for Symphonic Band) Op. 52- Equestrian Symphonette was written for the Orchestre d’Harmonie de Laval France. Laval is the capital town of the department of Mayenne and the surrounding countryside is home to many thoroughbred race horse stables. The composition incorporates the principal gaits of the horse (walk trot canter and gallop) as the musical cornerstones of this work and incorporates into the composition colourful depictions of the natural environment and surroundings as well as the characteristics of each stride. Interesting rhythmical patterns together with rich melodies are interwoven throughout this original piece which makes it an excellent choice for a contest or as anenterprising part of your concert.
