Craig Seller Lang (1891-1971) was a British composer organist and musical pedagogue who was born in New Zealand. He studied at the Royal College of Music before becoming a teacher at Christ’s Hospital School. His compositions were mostly written with a student performer in mind. He is best remembered for his seminal educational Organ books but he also created prolific volumes of material in both sacred and secular choral genres.

This setting of a poem from The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling is a swift and rhythmic chant for low voice.

The idea for the Sailors’ Chorus came to Wagner in 1839 aboard ship in the safety of a fjord after having fled from a storm at sea. The chanting of the crew as it echoed off the fjord’s granite cliffs inspired the composer to create this Chorus with its accented rhythms.The Sailors' Chorus is scored for men’s Chorus TTBB. Lyrics in German and English translation are provided.

Brighton born modern composer Roger Quilter managed to produce a sizeable canon of work especially that of 'art song' and an inspiration to others such as Peter Warlock. 'A Song At Parting' in B flat is arranged for voice and piano.

His most popular works by which he is largely remembered today were written in the years preceding the Second World War however he continued to compose prolifically in the face of indifference from the outside world right up until his death at the age of 91. His music is predominantly in the Romantic style and serves as a tasteful reminder of abygone age.

This complete edition includes all three movements ( Russian Air Siberian Waltz Dance ) which can either be played separately or together as a suite. Performance time of the whole suite is approximately 6 minutes.
