This spirited work by Andre Waignein is based on a selection of French folksongs. It consists of three movements each characterised by a particular mood. Broken Sword is based upon the legend of King Edward the Confessor’s Broken Sword - the sword with the tip broken off by an angel. This challenging composition begins slowly with stirring harmony. The subsequent passages echo the power of the sword; the quiet middle movement mirrors the benevolence of its carrier.

Concerto Dynamico is a sparkling work opening with a majestic introduction in which the whole band presents the main theme. The volume together with the broad melodic lines create a robust opening that leads to a dazzling allegro. Syncopated rhythms produce a cheerful note supported by the percussion. A charming andante follows in which various instrument groups play the main theme. In the succeeding moderato marziale the same theme can be heard as in the last allegro giocoso but with another rhythm. Concerto Dynamico ends with a shortened repeat of the slow middle movement.

7 Marches-The march collection Parade contains seven marches with a diversity of characters. Melodious titles such as Elegance Ambiance Delicata and Take It Up fully portray the music's character. If needed all marches can be performed with a drum band. Parade is a useful collection suitable for every occasion

Centenary is a cheerful march with a festive character. It opens with a solemn brass introduction and the first reprise and the bass solo that follows are characterised by a tight style of play. The trio begins with a simple melodic theme followed by a transitional section of alternating descant bass and tenor registers. The piece comes to a finale when the trio returns with overflowing exuberance.

Enjoy the Future was composed for the Politie Orkest Noord-Nederland (Police Band of the Northern Netherlands) to mark its 75th anniversary. This composition dedicated to manager and assistant conductor Reinder C. Klei is a dazzling musical number suitable for performance at any festive occasion.

Festival Variations is a one-movement concert work by the Belgian composer Johan Nijs. Many lively themes are featured appearing in a series of diverse variations. The introduction majestic and proud leads into the initial theme which immediately creates a festive atmosphere. In the slow attractive middle part the band catches its breath for a while. A swift passage finally concludes the work in a fitting manner. A truly festive set of variations.

Trumpet Fiesta spotlights four trumpet soloists. From the opening bars the music expresses a feeling of happiness. This swift and lively piece begins with a series of dynamic staccato passages from the soloists. The central section in the minor key contrasts with the beginning of the work and during this transition period there are only two solo trumpet parts. The first theme then quickly reappears before moving on to a peaceful and more melodic trio in which long and flowing melody lines allow the soloists to let the beautiful sound of the trumpet fully reveal itself. The sound pyramid then formed by the whole band leads this spectacular piece to a powerful finale.
