Following an inspirational trip to the Italian province of Como André Waignein composed A Triple Suite to capture the true beauty of this region. Waignein used three musical settings to depict Como. The first portrays the discovery of the lake and the picturesque villages around it. The second is a dreamy observation of the boats moving peacefully across the lake and the third depicts the energy of the town as locals and tourists mingle soaking up the friendly Italian atmosphere. Treat your audience to a delightful journey to Italy!

March of the Marmots describes the comical creatures that emerge from their winter slumber at first soft and hesitant then stridently march from their burrows into the sunlight. This piece is a nice challenge for any ensemble as every partis equally fun and educational. Enjoy!

The music highlights the charm of the town its sights its splendid scenery and much more… But above all the strong community spirit of the inhabitants of Riemst is beautifully expressed. For half of this work the composer has provided an optional two-part choral passage for mixed choir. Breathtaking!

White Winged Flight was commissioned by the association ‘Mozaïek’ the cultural collaboration of the Belgian municipalities Bonheiden Duffel Putte and Sint-Katelijne-Waver. The work is based on 4 notes that each stand for the name of the municipality. The title refers to the white-winged flight of a peace dove and is a call for reconciliation and peace. It is a brilliant piece of music in which you can hear the positive message throughout the parts. It is lively colourful and offers plenty of great playing for all instrument groups.

for Trombone and Piano-When Tantalus a figure from Greek mythology invited the gods to a banquet he served them his son Pelops whom he had cut into pieces. He did so to test whether his guests were omniscient. As a punishment Zeus sent Tantalus to Tartarus the deepest part of the underworld to suffer everlasting torture. The term ‘torment of Tantalus' refers to this predicament representing things much desired but that are out of reach. Kevin Houben used the story of Tantalus as inspiration for this composition.

For Trumpet/ Euphonium/Trombone and Concert Band-Friends are of the utmost importance in any person’s life. True friends can always count on one another even if they don’t meet up as often as they might wish. With Best Friends the Belgian composer Johan Nijs portrays this theme in a wonderful ballad that can be played on the trumpet euphonium or trombone. A great chance to put one of your players in the spotlight.

Euphoria is a bracing composition which concentrates its energy on the baritones/euphoniums. The solo parts require at least two soloists. This piece opens with a syncopated introduction followed by a statement of the simple melodic theme interpreted by the baritones/euphoniums. The style of performance is particularly affected by the alternation of staccato and legato passages. The finale of this work develops through a progression of accelerandos and crescendos leading to an amazing conclusion.

Call of the Clans (“L’appel des clans”) est un voyage musical à travers les Highlands (Hautes-Terres) d’Écosse une région de montagnes aux contours déchiquetés de collines verdoyantes de lacs aux eaux cristallines de châteaux en ruines et de villages pittoresques jadis organisés en clans. Chaque clan peut s’enorgueillir de posséder un patrimoine riche en traditions conquis et défendu par le fer et par le feu. C’est ainsi que les superbes Highlands devinrent le théâtre de nombreuses guerres et luttes entre clans. Festival Scenes describes a typical day in a festival schedule. The opening (Entry) is solemn. Graceful figures and sparkling and shining colours bring out a particular touch of lightness and elegance.
