French composer Henri Busser entered the Paris Conservatoire in 1889. He won the 1893 Prix de Rome and led a highly successful career as a composer conductor teacher and organist. His compositions for a variety of instruments are exceptional Cantabile Et Scherzando for Trombone and Piano being no exception. As reflected in Cantabile Et Scherzando Busser 's compositional style was sophisticated yet true to the 19th century French tradition. Elements of the Cantabile include include legato phrasing dotted rhythms and triplets superbly contrasted in the Scherzando by staccato rhythms a quick tempo and scalic passages. For all advanced Trombone players Busser 's Cantabile Et Scherzando is essential to a varied repertoire.

Written by Ferdinand Gillet a brilliant Oboe professor this Twenty-minute study is a set of daily exercises for Oboe players. Each exercise is a bit less than a page length and focuses on fundamentals such as trills arpeggios register changes in major and minor keys velocity and most difficult intervals. This set of exercises would definitely benefit upper intermediate/advanced Oboists and is a really good method to increase technical skills. Ferdinand Gillet (1882-1980) was also the main soloist at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He also wrote a method called studies for the advanced teachingof the Oboe and Exercises for advanced Oboe technique

Composed by Georges Hue for the Conservatoire Contest (1900) 1st Solo De Cornet à Pistons is a piece for Cornet and Piano accompaniment dedicated to J. Mellet. Quite difficult (6°) it would demonstrate well the skills acquired by an advanced player during a contest but can also be performed for a recital as it's eminently enjoyable. Written in Bb minor the piece starts with the succession of lyrical parts by the Bassoon accompanied by the Piano and of some quieter ones with a more predominant Piano and a slower Bassoon. The piece then continues with a more energetic part reminiscent of a march supportedby some chords on the Piano. It closes on a faster section in Molto Vivace. It is really important for the Cornet player to master his breathing to execute this piece effectively. Georges Hue (1858-1948) is a French musician and composer who composed numerous Operas including one created after the stories by Perrault.

Cendrillon is an opera-story created by Isabelle Aboulker in French and based on a story by Charles Perrault. Featuring the scores for Voice and Piano this piece requires different voices to sing the characters parts (including 3 sopraninos) and an actor for the story-telling. The Piano part can be played easily by a professional player. This piece was recorded for audio-books had representation for children in Paris theatre and is generally really enjoyed by the audience. Isabelle Aboulker is a French composer specially known for her opera her vocal works and for her adaptations of stories andfables.

Trois Esquisses is a series of three pieces for Piano named after the elements. Composed by Masayuki Nagatomi it is quite a difficult series to play and it requires some advanced skills and abilities. The total duration of the set is 5'30 minutes. The pieces are: 1. Wind - which main theme represents a soft and quiet breeze 1'30 2. Fire - fast and violent which can destroy everything and which depicts the flames sometimes big and sometimes smaller 1'30 3. Water and Earth - really slow to start with this part sounds like a river flowing quietly with some part of acceleration The most difficultaspect of this series will probably be to give the correct execution for the audience to recognise each element.
