As with his other compositions Twelves Noels by Saboly was well-received by audiences. Tomasi was born in Marseille but his Father and Mother were originally from La Casinca in Corsica. However in 1921 he began his studies at the Paris Conservatoire and wenton to become a high profile composer and conductor. Tomasi did not forget his Corsican routes often incorporating themes of the songs he had learnt during the summers with his Grandmother in to his compositions. The Twelve Noels by Saboly are based on the Pastorale poems by French poet Nicolas Saboly. This Tomasi collection is suitable to female vocalists providing an exciting alternative addition to the repertoire.

Sonatine by Eugène Bozza is a piece for Flute and Bassoon dedicated to Jacques Ibert. Strongly lyrical this piece is very interesting and quite challenging to play. It explores the full high and low of the instruments and requires some good breathing ability and strong agility. It is divided in three main parts are I. Allegro II. Andantino and III. Vif. While the first section is very cheerful and energetic the second part is slower and more reflective. The piece ends with a third part that is more direct and decisive. Eugène Bozza won different prizes at the Conservatoire de Paris such as theFirst Prizes for the Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He composed several operas chamber works and ballets among others.

Exploiting the Oboe to its full potential Fantaisie Pastorale is an exciting and challenging addition to the advanced oboists' repertoire. From Lent to Allegro passages this piece by French composer Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) covers a huge variety of the Oboe's possibilities. The piece begins with an emotional characterised cadenza portraying the pastoral title. However the tempo gradually increases through the piece evoking the fantasy aspect climaxing with flourishing semiquavers and ending with a grand tonic cadence. Bozza 's Fantaisie Pastorale for Oboe and Piano is not only symbolic but also includes exciting challenges making for an imperative performance piece in the Oboe repertoire.

Part of the collection 'Nine pieces' for Bassoon and Piano regrouped and transcribed by Fernand Oubradous Pièce is a work initially composed by Gabriel Fauré . Quite difficult it would match the skills and abilities of advanced players. This sensitive piece for Bassoon in E flat is quite melodious: the main theme introduced by the Piano is repeated by the Bassoon who will lead the music from that moment. Written 'Adagio molto tranquillo' it is quite slow and nice to listen to. It would be perfect to execute in a recital. Gabriel Fauré was a French Composer Organist Pianist and teacher. He is one of the most important composers of his generation with pieces such as 'Pavane' or 'Requiem'.
