from the motion picture Cast Away-In 2000 the movie Cast Away stormed into cinemas and received two Oscar nominations in the process. It follows the story of a man (played by Tom Hanks) who gets stranded on an island after the plane he is traveling on crashes. As the sole survivor he does his best to keep himself alive while facing a rather bleak situation. An interesting feature about this film is that after hearing an Elvis song and a Russian choir no music is heard again until the end of the movie over 100 minutes later! Aidan Thomas creates a moving arrangement of the end credits music.

One of the biggest hits of WetWetWet has been arranged in an excellent way by George Moreau. ‘Love is all around’ will certainly please the young audience.

Chorale Fantasy on How lovely shines the Morning Star-This composition is based on the beautiful chorale melody Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern (How lovely shines the Morning Star). Like the chorale fantasias by Bach and Buxtehude this is a fantasia in which the original theme is used and altered throughout the work in various ways. Slow passages are alternated with fast ones and finally a grand tutti arrives in which the original chorale theme sounds joyfully in a majestic finale. For extra colour and dimension an optional organ part has been added that can be used when the circumstances are appropriate. On the full score the various organ entries are indicated.

The son of a jazz pianist and a singer Roger Cicero (born 1970 in Berlin) stepped onto stage for the first time when he was only seven years old! He went on to study piano guitar and singing and appeared with well-known swing and jazz orchestras. After first working as a composer he began performing as a vocalist and represented Germany in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. Peter Schüller has combined three hits from an artist who makes the language of Goethe swing: Frauen regier'n die Welt Nicht artgerecht and Zieh' die Schuhe aus. This arrangement contains optional parts for piano/keyboard and electric or bass guitar.

Traditional-As a musician Armonia Serrano is very familiar with folk music. Drawing from her experience she has made this appealing arrangement which stays close to the original work. This catchy traditional melody makes it impossible for your audience to stay in their seats!

Upside Down is the latest new piece by the Belgian composer Filip Ceunen in the Flexible 5 Series. It was especially composed for the beginner musician. Because of the low grade of difficulty and the flexible instrumentation options thispiece is suitable for practically any young band. Rush Hour was commissioned by the Swiss Brass Band Association (SBBV) on the occasion of the 38th Swiss National Brass Band Championships 2012 (Montreux SBBW) as the test piece in the Championship division.Structured in three parts without breaks the work opens in a heavy oppressive atmosphere sometimes even noisy. After a short passage in a lighter mood a quick tempo takes over the music becomes nervous and unrelenting with constant twists and turns. The tension builds leading to a slower movement in which various soloists are highlighted. A few humorous touches are heard in contrast to a majestic powerful and dramatic chorale. The end of this part is brighter andmore peaceful. This atmosphere is soon replaced by a return of the thematic material heard in the first movement developing into an oppressive moos. The piece concludes with a last ecstatic tutti reusing the harmonies of the introduction in a kind of final flurry. Rush Hour attempts to express the range of feelings we may experience when caught in various stressful situations in the middle of the rush hour.

from Piano Sonata No. 8 in c minor Op. 13-This beautiful melody may well be one of the most delightful solo piano pieces ever and over the years has been arranged for many line-ups. In this arrangement Georges Moreau wanted to stay as close to the original as possible. He has given the passionate aspect of the melody absolute priority and it is supported by a straightforward accompaniment.

This musical fairy tale takes place during the middle ages in England at the court of King Arthur and his knights of the round table. Bert Appermont wanted to cast knights castles and princesses as the lead role and let young bands andsmaller/incomplete ensembles enjoy this rich fantasy.

subTERRA tells the story of a miner who miraculously survives the collapse of a mine shaft. The work consists of five movements:1. The Dream: A horrible nightmare plagues the miner. Dissonances and unusual sounds foreshadow the imminent disaster.2. The Work: The rhythmic second part describes the daily grind of a miner from driving into the mine shaft to working deep underground.3. The Accident: Suddenly a piercing alarm is heard. Everyone tries to escape the mine amidst the ensuing chaos as the mine shaft collapses trapping the unfortunate miner.4. Hope: Buried under rubble and debris the miner regains consciousness. A prayer can be heard.5. The Rescue: A powerfulmaestoso symbolizes the successful rescue and survival of the trapped miner.

‘Canzun’ is the Rhaeto-Romanic term for ‘song’ or ‘chant’. The work Canzun is based on two songs from the folk tradition of the Alps. In the middle movement we hear the Canzun della Sontga Margriata an old song from the Bündner Mountains about the legend of Saint Margriata. At the beginning and the end of the composition motifs from a Maria hymn from Vorarlberg can be heard. Thus two songs from neighbouring Alps regions are connected and developed together creating lively dynamic sections as well as lyrical lofty passages. The strength of the concert band gives room to wide expressive melody lines in many contrasting sound colours.
