Geoffrey Burgon 's Trumpets is a work for two Trumpets and Organ originally forming part of the ballet 'The Calm' written for The London Contemporary Dance Theatre and premiering in 1974. Thisarrangement of Trumpets was made by the composer. This is the score and parts. 'The Calm' is concerned with the interplay of differing temperaments in human behaviour with two contrastingapproaches represented by two couples.

Work for Solo Piano commissioned for the City of London Festival in 1999. Quoting John Tavener: Ypaköe in Greek refers to the Yapöe of Easter 'Why seek ye among the dead as though He were mortal man?'. Ypaköe for solopiano is a meditation on both the Passion and Resurrection of Christ. Ypakoë is a totally spiritual concept - to attone the individual's (performer's or listener's) will to the divine will. Ypakoë is personaland its violation may permit sanctions the purpose of which is to heal the listeners.

This work was commissioned for the choir of St. Paul's Old Church Edinburgh who gave the first performance on the 11th of June 1989 at St. Giles' Church Edinburgh conducted by Leslie Shankland. This is a setting in Scots ofthe passage in the Apocalypse where St. John hears a voice from the throne that voice appearing here as soprano-alto duets from a distance building as Davies has said ' fine bridge' from the time of the Edinburgh church to thepresent. Both vocal groups sing in translucent modal harmony with organ support.

Things go hilariously wrong with the Selkie wife escaping tothe seas and Mansie an islander facing a most uncongenial alliance with his cousin and housekeeper Miss Trowie-Tattibogle. This work for piano and string ensemble was written as a homage to Maestro Luciano Berio. The harmonic field of the piece is based on a series of twenty-three notes chosen for him by the composer. Commissioned by the UltimaFestival Oslo this work was first performed in October 1991 at Den Gamle Logen Oslo by Hakon Austbo (piano) and the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Beat Furrer.
