Kyrie eleison-Gloria in excelsis deo- The five volume editorial project Repertorium Troporum Bohemiae Medii Aevi presents the textual and musical edition of troped mass chants from Bohemian sources from the 11th to the 16th century. The second volume of the complete edition of mass tropes from Bohemian manuscripts of the 12th to 16th century includes 45 Kyrie tropes and 7 Gloria tropes. They represent thee distinct traditions as they developed in Bohemia in the High and Late Middle Ages: those of Cathedral the Prague Diocese and the late Utraquist liturgy. A considerable number of texts and melodies are presented for the first time in this publication. As in the first volume theedition is complemented by comprehensive commentaries an introduction and plates. The tropes are edited along with their native chants as such this publication will be of interest to both the academic community as well as those interested in performance. Hana Vlhová-Wörner studied musicology in Prague and Basel Switzerland. From 1993 to 2006 she worked at the Institute for Musicology Charles University Prague (Ph.D. 2000 Habilitation 2009). Since 2006 she has lived in the U.S.A. where she has taught at Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill. She is the author of numerous publications on church music and Latin liturgical poetry in Bohemia and Central Europe from the 11th to 16th centuries and one of the editors of the Jistebnice Kancionál.. Quartet by Pierre Max Dubois is a piece for four Saxophones also known as Concertino initially composed for four Saxophones and a String Orchestra. In this arrangement Georges Moreau wanted to stay as close to the original as possible. He has given the passionate aspect of the melody absolute priority and it is supported by a straightforward accompaniment.

Dvorák’s Symphony No. 7 was commissioned by the “Royal Philharmonic Society” in August 1883 and received its premiere on 22 April 1885 in London conducted by the composer himself. The following June the second movement was shortened by some 40 bars and the work was published in this form in 1885 by Simrock.The editor of this new scholarly-critical edition is Jonathan Del Mar who has gained an international reputation for his edition of Dvorák’s cello concerto in B minor (BA 9045) not to mention his editions of works by Beethoven and Elgar. Del Mar has drawn on all the available sources including letters. As the title suggests this Sonatine interprets musical elements of sport. With this in mind Tcherepnine 's Sonatine is a highly amusing energetic and fun piece to play for saxophonists. Russian born composer Alexandre Tcherepnine (1899-1977) moved to Paris with his family in 1921 following the increasingly hostile political environment in Russia. During WWII Tcherepnine 's composing activities virtually stopped. However just before doing so he composed his Sonatine Sportive . The first movement interprets boxers with pulsating quavers in the piano partrepresenting a defence. Movement two suggests a rest that the two players take before the 'racing' third movement written in the form of a canon. With such stimulating and imaginative creativity Tcherepnine 's Sonatine is essential to the saxophonist's repertoire.
