To this day Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments despite being a violinist himself. His 3 Pieces for Flute and Guitar are no exception to the composer's success. During his studies at the Paris Conservatoire Bozza won prizes for Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He then conducted the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and became Head of the Conservatoire in Valenciennes whilst remaining a prominent composer. Composed in 1977 Bozza 's 3 Pieces for Flute and Guitar is a virtuosicwork addressing advanced features including complex rhythms chromaticism a wide range and articulation as well as exploitation of the ensemble. As music educationalist Paul Griffiths has written of Bozza 's compositions 'his works reveal melodic fluency elegance of structure and a consistenly sensitive concern of instrumental capabilities.'

This work is based on Daniel Defoe�s world-famous 1719 novel and with broad brushstrokes typifies the hero�s life in four parts. The first part describes his life as a seaman. The second part is an impressive stormy description of the shipwreck he falls victim to. The next covers his happy life with his friend Friday which takes the form of a melodious hymn. Lastly the fourth part describes the tense confrontation with the Cannibals and his return home.

The Full Score of Kaija Saariaho's Lichtbogen For Nine Musicians and Live Electronics. The title for this work stems from the composer's experience of seeing the Northern lights whilst starting work on writing the piece this experience also shaped the form and language of the piece. Lichtbogen was the first time Saariaho had worked with a computer in the context of purely instrumental music this new compositional element led to harmonic material being created by analysing short transitions played with a violin and cello starting with artificial harmonic sounds and ending up with complex multi-phonic sounds. The rhythmic elements of this piece were created using a networkof computer programmes allowing the composer to construct interpolations and transitions for different musical parameters rhythmic interpolations created through sets of musical patterns that are repeated but each time slightly modified in character. Lichtbogen is the commission of the French ministry of culture and is dedicated to Paul Mefanc. A splendid work for Ensemble (Flute Percussion Harp Piano 2 Violins Viola Cello Double Bass) and Live Electronics by this inimitable Finnish composer. Organ Coro I- The Missa in F of 1734 for two or four choirs is probably Pergolesi ’s most important work for choir and orchestra. The nickname 'Missa Romana' was added later in reference to a performance given in Rome during Pergolesi ’s lifetime. This Urtext edition presents the work for the first time in the four-choir version that Pergolesi wrote for the above mentioned performance in Rome. Choirs III and IV are reproduced in smaller type and are added to the version for double choir in order to intensify the overall sound. This allows the work to be performed not only with two choirs but also in the delightful enlarged version for fourchoirs.
