Features of the Barenreiter Urtext edition of Beethoven 's Mass In C Major : Score with realisation of the Organ part Bilingual Foreword (Eng/Ger) and Critical Commentary (Eng) Straight-forward Piano reduction Full score and performance material (BA9039) and Vocal score (BA9039-90) available for sale Amongst Beethoven ’s sacred works are two settings of the Mass. The Mass In C Major was completed and premiered in 1807 and has been unjustly described as a preliminary step towards the great Missa solemnis. Yet it is a self-contained and for its time distinctly modernpiece of sacred music. Beethoven specialist Barry Cooper has drawn on a rich body of sources to suggests practical solutions to the work’s musical and interpretative problems. His in-depth study of the sources convinced him to include a fully realised Organ part in the score just as Beethoven envisioned it for the first printed edition. As stated in the original sources the parts for the soloists and choir are notated on joint staves to demonstrate that the soloists are also to sing the choral passages. This Barenreiter Urtext edition is rounded off with a foreword on the work’s genesis and a detailed critical commentary.

Lion City Festival was commissioned as one of the test pieces for the Singapore Youth Festival 2010 an annual event at which school ensembles from throughout Singapore can receive gold silver or bronze awards for their performance. The English name for Singapore comes from Malay Singapura which has Sanskrit roots meaning ‘Lion City’. Lion City Festival is in the form of a quick march in ABA form. An opening fanfare leads to a perky march tune which is taken up by the full band. A change of key heralds a legato trio section before the main theme returns in varied form. Roaring fun!

For String Sextet (2 Violins 2 Violas 2 Cellos Bass) set of parts. Mozart ’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola K. 364 (320d) is his only complete surviving work in this genre. He wrote it in 1779 after returning from Paris and Mannheim. For two decades it was known only in a few copyists’ manuscripts. The first edition did not appear until 1802. The work achieved great popularity that same year particularly the arrangements for Piano four-hands and Piano trio. This arrangement for String Sextet dating from 1808 is interesting not only for its unusual scoring but also for the way the two concertante instrumentsinteract with the other strings. This edition revives this arrangement after almost two centuries drawing primarily on the sole surviving source: the first edition in parts published by the Vienna Stamperia Chimica in 1808. The editor Christopher Hogwood recounts the history of the work and the particulars of the arrangement in a trilingual preface (Eng ./ Ger./ Cz .) and a critical report. Barenreiter's new edition takes into account both the original print and the text from the “New Mozart Edition”. New edition of a historical transcription for String Sextet (1808) Available in print again after almost two centuries Also suitable for Chamber Orchestra Detailed preface and critical report (Eng./Ger./ Cz .)
