For Bassoon-To this day Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments despite being a violinist himself. His 12 Caprices for Bassoon is no exception to the composer's success. During his studies at the Paris Conservatoire Bozza won prizes for Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He then conducted the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and became Head of the Conservatoire in Valenciennes whilst remaining a prominent composer. Compiled in 1968 Bozza 's 12 Caprices addresses a variety of very difficult advanced features of the Bassoon includingcomplex rhythms articulation chromaticism variations in time signatures breath control phrasing intervals scales and arpeggios amongst other aspects. For all advanced Bassoon players Bozza 's 12 Caprices are essential to continue to develop technique to a high standard.

Jind ich Feld 's Quatre Pièces for Flute is performed by virtuoso flautists. Published in 1964 the Quatre Pièces are challenging elaborate and quirky yet thrilling and inspiring. Born in Prague Feld (1925-2007) studied Violin and Viola with his parents before studying at the Conservatory and Academy of Music of his native city. His compositions predominantly instrumental soon became popular being performed all over the world. As reflected in his Quatre Pièces for solo Flute Feld 's style is deeply rooted in the Czech musicaltradition but he also integrated the main styles of 20th century Western music. The Quatre Pièces are named 1. Meditation 2. Caprice 3. Interlude (Hommage to Bartok) and 4. Burlesque. Each piece of the Quatre Pièces present different challenges from fast semiquaver flourishes to the sultry lower register of the Flute. 10 Solos- Composed between 1920 and 1921 Histoires is a suite of ten short movements by Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) a neoclassical composer who won the Prix de Rome in 1919. Written for Piano this publication was commissioned by Alphonse Leduc editor and increased Jacques Ibert 's popularity. The ten pieces are as follows: 1. La meneuse de tortures d'or (The golden Turtle's leader) 2. Le petit âne blanc (The little white donkey) 3. Le vieux mendicant (The old beggar) 4. A Giddy girl 5.
