French composer Henri Busser entered the Paris Conservatoire in 1889. He won the 1893 Prix de Rome and led a highly successful career as a composer conductor teacher and organist. His compositions for a variety of instruments are exceptional Prélude Et Scherzo for Flute and Piano being no exception. As reflected in Prélude Et Scherzo Busser 's compositional style was sophisticated yet true to the 19th century French tradition. Elements of the Prélude include chromaticism use of a wide tessitura complex rhythms and virtuosic semiquaverflourishes. The Scherzo displays use of varying time signatures a quick tempo and scalic passages. For all advanced Flute players Busser 's Prélude Et Scherzo is essential to a varied repertoire.

The great Fantaisie Italienne is a piece composed by Eugène Bozza for Oboe and Piano. Quite difficult it requires some advanced skills to be executed perfectly. Starting Moderato it opens with a cadenza which includes some solo Oboe sections and continues with a short and lyrical melody. It closes on a nice rhythmic section in Allegro. Really nice to play and to listen to Fantaisie Italienne would make for a fantastic demonstration of your skills and technical abilities during a recital and a concert. Eugène Bozza won different prizes atthe Conservatoire de Paris such as the First Prizes for the Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He composed several operas chamber works and ballets among others.

He composed many works related to ornithology and birdsong including the 'Bird Catalogue' in 7 volumes and the 'Treatise on rhythm colour and ornithology' in 7 volumes.
