The beautiful sheet music for Armando Ghidoni 's Sweet And Go arranged here for solo Saxophone. Premiered in 2013 Sweet And Go for solo Saxophone elegantly explores the poetic and technical resources of the instrument Armando Ghidoni knows so well (Concerto pour saxophone et orchestre à cordes; Concerto Grosso pour saxophone alto piano et orchestre). The diptych approximately five minutes in length opens with an Adagio a free de­clamation in recitative that is an oasis of tenderness to which the glissandi bring a whiff of the Orient. In contrast to this voluptuous dream the second section marked Vivo brilante ben ritmato allows the soloist to display a sparkling virtuosity - slapsincluded! - without betraying the underlying spirit of improvisation. Melodies rhythms nuances and colours all contribute to this festival of ingenuity.

Pour Violon (ou Flûte) et Piano- Composer and conductor Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) was a pupil of Henri Busser and Henri Rabaud at the Conservatoire de Paris and received the first Prix de Rome in 1934. It was during his stay the Villa Medici that he wrote his Aria Pour Saxophone Alto Et Piano - an adaptation of the third movement of Johan Sebastian Bach's Organ Pastorale in F Major BWV 590 which was to tour the world. This nostalgia-imbued melody which expands over a regular meter has in turn been the subject of numerous transcriptions first for clarinet then for Violin (or Flute) and Piano. éditions Leduc have chosen torepublish this last version with the added bonus of an audio version that should be of valuable assistance to all musicians!

La Nuit De Dinant by Ryo Noda a Japanese composer is a contemporary piece of work for solo Alto Saxophone. Very challenging this piece lasts approximately nine minutes and features many technical aspects which require strong knowledge of the instrument and its practice. The piece includes many repetitions harmonies accidentals bisbigliandos Aeolians sounds slaps and growls among other technical difficulties. Ryo Noda is a Japanese saxophonist who is used to all genres: classical romantic and baroque among others. He is also known for his work of improvisations.

Composed between 1920 and 1921 this set of Histoires is a suite of four short movements by Jacques Ibert selected out of the ten initial ones for Flute and Piano. This publication was commissioned by the Alphonse Leduc editors and increased Jacques Ibert 's popularity. This four pieces are as followed : 3. Le vieux mendiant (The old beggar) 4. A Giddy girl 6. Le palais abandonné (The abandoned palace) 7. Bajo la mesa (Under the table) The difficulty of these works will fit intermediate to upper intermediate players. Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) also composed many symphonic suites operas and seven orchestras including 'Angelique' (1926) and 'Entertainment' (1930). He also was in charge of the French Academy in the Villa Médicis (Roma) and became later administrator for the Paris Opera.
