Based on Die Forelle Op. 32 by Franz Schubert-The Austrian composer Franz Schubert wrote his famous song The Trout (D550) in 1817. This song reappeared as the basis of a set of variations for the fourth movement of the renowned Trout Quintet so-named as a reference to the title of the song. Robert van Beringen used the lively theme for The Trout Fantasy which he has written for a five-part flute ensemble.

As performed by Earth Wind & Fire-This song was released in 1977 and is one of the famous songs from the legendary band Earth Wind and Fire . Because of its popularity it was used in movies and TV series' and was also covered many times throughout the years with the 1990 version of Black Box being one of the most successful covers. Richard Johnson created this solid arrangement for concert band.

Which instrument renders a better representation of the unfortunate attempt of the young Icarus to fly beneath the sun? The composer Pascal Proust has many years’ experience as a musician and music teacher. His output includes several hundredcompositions for the most diverse instrumentations. He wrote Icare for oboe players at the level of approximately 3–4 years’ study and paid special attention to an easy-to-follow attractive musical style. As a result Icare is an idealperformance or competition work for young musicians.

Jacob de Haan arranged four Christmas carols in the suite Four Shepherd Songs . In the four-part instrumentation creating the possibility to play the piece with a large number of varied strengths he successively arranged Als ich bei meinen Schafen wacht Inmitten der Nacht Kommet ihr Hirten and Ihr Hirten erwacht . The arrangement was skillfully replenished with suitable percussion instruments. All of the carols can be performed with a choir (German text). Four Shepherd Songs beautifully enriches the Christmas repertoire.

Cyclist in Moscow was written to introduce beginner players to ensemble playing as early as possible. Thanks to the low grade of difficulty of this piece this it is possible to play in a ‘real band’ after only a few lessons. Because of the four-part instrumentation Cyclist in Moscow is suitable for smaller strengths taking into account that it is important to divide parts evenly among the players. Also includes an ad-lib keyboard/piano part to support the ensemble.

Blues pieces for one or two guitars-18 blues pieces in a variety of pop and rock styles for one or two guitars and play-along CD featuring live musicians. Each piece comes with a single melody line and an optional second part and rhythm guitar part. They also include TAB notation and suggestions for improvisations.

In this beautiful composition melodic fragments of the hymn tune Beecher are morphed into a series of variations showing the melody in various moods from expressive then quiet and soft to bright and triumphant in the end. Written as a testpiece in the 4th division for the Dutch Brass Band Championships in 2015 the music features challenging solo parts for cornet soprano cornet flugelhorn and euphonium. A great work for the concert stage!

Pjotr Iljitsj Tchaikovsky is famous for his fantastic moving melodies. Different to many of his other romantic Russian contemporaries Tchaikovsky had a particular feel for the European music taste of music which made him immensely popular. In this accessible compilation arranger Wil van der Beek uses a selection of Tchaikovsky’s most beautiful melodies from works including Capriccio Italien String Quartet No. 1 and his famous Piano Concerto No.1 .

Gradually you’ll learn to play all the major scales. Practising scales is important as they help single out different aspects of making music such asdeveloping your technique and your sense of tonality and playing by heart.
