For this work the Japanese composer Hayato Hirose dug deep into his own imagination to fi nd the right inspiration. It is about a young boy who dreams about reaching paradise (Arcadia) and sets out on a journey to find it. This journey is long and treacherous but despite the many challenges he faces the boy finally does reach his Arcadia. The result is a very dramatic work that will take your audience on a breath-taking journey.

Polish Christmas Lights is a collection of three traditional Polish Christmas carols arranged for wind ensemble with flexible instrumentation. These three themes are used throughout the composition with some variation here and there. Add a little sparkle to your Christmas concert with Polish Christmas Lights.

This quiet piece with its broad tones was originally written for brass band on request of Robert Leveugle chairman of the composers own band: Brass Band Midden Brabant (Belgium). The direct cause was a visit to the beautiful cathedral of theEnglish city Canterbury in which so many fine compositions sounded throughout the centuries. Later on Jan Van der Roost rescored this piece for symphonic wind band exploring the full richness of colours of this formation. Besides solo phrases forseveral instruments there are some massive tutti passages making the wind orchestra sound like a majestic organ. By the way: an ad libitum organ part adds an extra richness colour and power to this piece making it sound even more broad andgrand.

Combo Accompaniment (Piano Guitar E-Bass Drums)-Swinging editions each with four pieces for wind quartet - great for playing together with others. You may choose from the books for other instruments in the Swing Jazz or Groove Quartets series to form combinations. This will make the music sound really jazzy. Each piece is recorded on the CD six times. The first time you’ll hear the combo and the four parts as a whole; then follow four versions in which respectively the first second third and fourth parts have been left out; and finally you’ll hear a version with just the combo.

Overture KV 620-Inspiré d’un conte de fée oriental l’opéra Die Zauberflöte relate l’histoire de Tamino qui protégé des dangers par une flûte enchantée traverse des épreuves difficiles avant d’être accepté par les forces de la Lumière. Au courant de son périple il retrouve Pamina dont il tombe éperdument amoureux. Mozart a composé l’ouverture de son dernier opéra deux jours avant la première. Elle débute avec un adagio suivi d’un allegro écrit sous la forme d’une fugue. Le passage central développe successivement trois groupes d’accords qui rappellent les premières mesures de l’ouverture.

Wedding March (Marche nuptiale) est une œuvre de circonstance que le compositeur belge Jan Van der Roost a écrite en 2007 pour la cérémonie de mariage de son ami le compositeur néerlandais Johan De Meij. La création de l’œuvre a eu lieu par une belle journée fin août 2007. Jan Van der Roost en a assuré la direction.Si la musique dénote une influence de Mendelssohn et d’Elgar cette marche renferme néanmoins les traits caractéristiques de Jan Van der Roost : des thèmes variés et une grande expressivité de la mélodie cantabile du trio. La partie d’orgue (passage de fin) est ad libitum mais il va de soi que les sonorités de l’orgue enveloppent la musiqued’une splendeur extraordinaire.

The music for the beloved hymn Holy Holy Holy (also known as Nicaea) was composed by the English composer John Bacchus Dyke in 1861 and was first published that year in the book Hymns Ancient and Modern. The beautiful melody is not only suitable for use in church services but also makes an ideal reflective concert work.

Nel blu dipintu di blu-In 1958 Domenico Modugno (1928-1994) song Nel blu dipinto di blu (or Volare) was the Italian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest. Modugno did not win the contest (he became third) but the song - a true sing-along - turned out to be a worldwide hit. In the course of decades Volare has been translated into various languages and performed by many artists of repute like The Gipsy Kings Dean Martin Louis Armstrong Petula Clark and David Bowie. With this catchy arrangement Lorenzo Bocci has given Volare a wonderfully fitting Concert Band sound.

This colourful and beautiful composition by Tony Jabovsky combines Eastern melodies and Jamaican rhythms in an imaginative and creative manner.
