Fantasy for Marimba was commissioned by the outstanding Japanese marimba player Fumito Nunoya. Although it is written in concerto style the piano not only accompanies the solo marimba but also plays an important part in the development of the work. The piece is written in four movements played without a break: Allegro Andante misterioso Tempo rubato and Allegro energico. Also available for Marimbaphone and Piano.

Andrew Watkin takes us on a three-movement musical journey in U.S. City Trip. Each movement explores a world famous street in three different American cities. Swing blues and rock styles accompany us as we visit the theatres on Broadway in New York the clubs on Rampart Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter and the casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.

Waldkircha in Musica- Jubilate’s main theme comes from the Gregorian chant on the Psalm Jubliate Deo omnis terra. The work itself was inspired by the sacredhistory of the Waldkirch (a forest village) community located on the Swiss/German boarder. It tells a tale of the Irish and Scottish monks who build the first wooden church at the site of what is now Waldkirch of the dramatic events good and bad that have taken place over the centuries and of the flourishing community that has withstood the trials of time.

from Requiem opus 48-Pie Jesu is the famous aria for soprano and orchestra from Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem opus 48. Fauré (1845- 1924) composed the work in 1887 two years after his father’s death and only a short time before his mother passed away. Fauré’s Pie Jesu is richly atmosphere and peaceful and Robert van Beringen perfectly captures the essence of Fauré’s beautiful music in this arrangement for concert band.

for Soprano Solo and Band-The hymn Nun ruhen alle Wälder (Now All Forests Rest) arranged by J.S. Bach (No. 6 So sei nun Seele deine from Cantata BWV 13) is a guiding light throughout this four-movement composition. Pütz wrote this work as a musical outcry against the wilful profit-driven destruction of our environment. When Bach used the word “ruhen” (to rest) over 350 years ago it probably had a different nuance from the meaning it has today. At the beginning of the 21st century - the so-called age of progress - “nun ruhen alle Wälder” should mean “now all forests die” . Massive industrialization and globalization coupled with pure greed corruption political scandals an ever-wideninggap between the rich and poor and other such senseless human actions are pushing our blue planet closer and closer to the point of no return. This work is not intended to be a ranting accusation. It should remind us of the beauty and harmony that can exist all around us in nature if we take care of it. Pütz hopes that this will one day help put a greater emphasis on humanity’s survival and coexistence with nature rather than the exploitation described earlier. All four texts were created by Australian poet Graeme King whose works were discovered by Pütz by chance on the internet. Pütz was especially captivated by King’s clarity and intrigued by the possibilities of adapting and melding the strong rhythmical structure of King’s writing with his own musical language. The four movements are as follows: 1. Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! 4. Tomorrow The world première of Four Earth Songs took place on 7 July 2009 at the 14th WASBE-Conference in Cincinnati (USA). This work is dedicated in friendship to Jouke Hoekstra conductor and the Frysk Fanfare Orkest (the Frisian Fanfare-Orchestra).

After he had survived a heavy sea storm John Newton (1725-1807) captain of a slave ship became a priest and from then on he fought for the abolition of slavery. During his tenure he wrote several hymns of which Amazing Grace certainly is the best known. The melody assumedly derives from a song by the African slaves. Takashi Hoshide has written a compelling arrangement of this beautiful melody.

Opus 2 no. 1-Edward Elgar (1857-1934) originally composed this work in 1887 as a Pie Jesu when he was an organist in the St George’s Church in Worcester. Years later in 1902 he transformed the Pie Jesu into an Ave Verum for soprano and tenor solo mixed choir and organ. This excellent arrangement was created by Robert van Beringen and skilfully retains the wonderful atmosphere of the original composition.

From The Planets- Jupiter Hymn is a beautiful easy-to-play arrangement from the wonderful fourth movement of the seven-part orchestral suite The Planets by Gustav Holst: Jupiter the Bringer of Jollity. Holst took inspiration for this suite—one of his best-known works—from the astrological aspect of the planets rather than their astronomical or physical characteristics. Holst wrote The Planets at the beginning of the 20th century at a time when certain features of the work such as exotic time signatures (5/4) dissonances and unusual instrumentation were uncommon.

The sound of the clarinets is reminiscent of songs and dances of the olden days and for a short while we’re taken back to decades past. The composer Pascal Proust has many years’ experience as a musician and music teacher. His output includes several hundred compositions for the most diverse instrumentations. He wrote Rétro for clarinettists at the level of approximately 3–4years’ study and paid special attention to an easy-to-follow attractive musical style. As a result Rétro is an ideal performance or competition work for young musicians.

This composition was written on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the De Pinte wind band. This is also the derivation of Latin title Aureus (golden—from the word aurum or gold). This work is comprised of three main sections. The first and last sections are predominantly a musical setting of the concepts of celebration and joy in keeping with the theme of jubilee. The music is therefore above all dynamic energetic and extrovert. The middle section has a more introspective melodic character contemplating the subtle beauty of life. Aureus is a newly composed chorale that establishes the most important attributes in life and also within a club orassociation: love friendship health and happiness.
